Fab Filippo is a Dora Award–nominated playwright and an award-winning TV producer, writer, director, and showrunner. Most recently, he wrote, directed, and served as co-showrunner on SORT OF, the half-hour series for CBC and HBO Max (Sphere Media), which landed on Top Ten lists from Vanity Fair to Rolling Stone and won a Peabody Award. He has directed over 40 episodes of television across comedy, drama, and true crime, and is currently developing an hour-long series with indie powerhouse Killer Films. He was also instrumental in the development of the Netflix series North of North and the upcoming Seoul Palace for Crave.
His previous work includes writing, directing, and showrunning the critically acclaimed short-form series Save Me, which earned over 20 international festival nominations and a Webby. His most recent stage play, The Summoned, premiered at Tarragon Theatre, played to sold-out houses, and earned him a Dora Award nomination for Playwriting.
As an actor, Filippo is known for roles in Lives of the Saints opposite Sophia Loren, the indie cult hit waydowntown, and as Ethan Gold in Showtime’s groundbreaking series Queer as Folk. He is also frequently recognized for his appearance on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
